A diverse and international peloton will line up next week in Baku for the start of the 2016 Tour d'Azerbaidjan, with recent Tour of Croatia winner Matija Kvasina leading the way as one of the pre-race favourites.
The Tour d’Azerbaidjan is only one week away, and this year's edition will again take the peloton on a trip across the entire country – from the Caspian Sea and the capital city of Baku, to the mountains around Gabala.
Matija Kvasina has won the overall title in the Tour of Croatia. The Croatian, riding for the Synergy Baku Cycling Project, moved in to the race lead on the fourth of six stages and the team successfully brought him to today’s finale.
Matija Kvasina has taken the lead in the Tour of Croatia with a second place finish on the race’s queen stage. He takes a 19 second advantage going into the final two stages of his homeland race.
