Ismayilli, 04.05.2017 - After an impressive solo effort in the final 15km of today's stage, Kirill Pozdnyakov (Synergy Baku Cycling Project) did the double in winning both the stage and taking the race lead of the Tour d'Azerbaidjan.

Stages 2014

The first stage starts in Baku and finishes in 153.5 km in Sumqayit. This is a good chance for sprinters where they can decide the fate of the race on the last five laps.

The second stage is repeated for the fourth year and consists of 186.5 km distance from Baku to Ismayilly. Hilly route and strong wind.

The third stage is 177.2 km long running from Qabala to Oguzh in Sheki then back to Qabala. Stones on a site near the medieval Caravanserai can become a serious test for the riders.

The fourth stage is not very long, only 115.3 kilometers from Qabala to Pirqulu, but it features three climbs. A chance to win for mountain riders.

The fifth stage will be held in Baku: 158 km loop, then 3 laps of 13.6 km each, including sections of the cobblestones in the old town.
